It’s relatively easy to get Firefox to show you a drop down list of usernames to choose from. I couldn’t figure out how to do it in Safari. I googled for a while, found some incorrect advice and then discovered the solution by mistake. So here it is for the googlers:

  1. Click in the username field
  2. Select all
  3. Hit the Delete key
  4. Hit the Delete key again.

You will be presented with a clickable list of usernames to select from.  Choosing a username will populate the password field accordingly.

Now, if you’ve reached this point but don’t know much about Keychain or how to keep your saved usernames & passwords safe then I strongly encourage you to read up on this topic. Like, right now.
